This is the page where I am sticking lots of very useless little facts and bits of information that just don`t fit anywhere else on the site. I hope they are all correct but if you spot any that are not let me know.

Useless Facts Noticeboard

  1. Mark produced John Peel Sessions for bands such as The Fall, Julian Cope, Billy Brag and of course The Creepers.
  2. The Mark Radcliffe Graveyard Shift Show Theme Tune is called 'Highwire' It is the theme from Dangerman. Dangerman was a 70's TV show.
  3. Mark is always taking the piss out of Jimmy Nail, Paul Daniels and Caravan Owners.
  4. Mark and Lard were due to present the Lottery on the 31st May 1997 however after taking the piss out of all the Lottery Big Cheeses on the 29th for getting big pay rises they decided they had better pull out.
  5. When Mark and Lard presented the 1997 Brat Awards they made up some of their own including 'The Best Song With Kevin In It'. The prize was a cement filled rubber glove made by Lard. They presented it to the Manics but the Manics chucked it back almost hitting Mark and damaging Lard's Yamaha DD50 Drum Machine.
  6. When Mark started working at Radio 1 as a producer he was given his own little office he didn't know what he was supposed to be doing. However Annie Nitinggale knocked on the door to say 'Hello' and to show him the ropes.
  7. Mark was allowed to play one non-playlist tune of his choice every half hour on the Breakfast Show.
  8. Lard has a dog called Deefer and a cat called Ceefer. Pets that he has owned in the past include hamsters, tarantulas and even a salamander.
  9. In April 1998 Lard got a pager and as well as the usual email, letter and phone people could also contact him on his pager number - 04325 189 421.
  10. Mark and Lard both support Manchester City.
  11. Mark was the drummer with Hardcore Punk band "Screwdriver". Screwdriver later became a bit of a right wing Nazi band but this was after Mark had left it.
  12. The radio studio that Mark & Lard broardcast from is also used for the programme "Good Morning Sunday".
  13. Mia Radcliffe came to her first gig on 26/2/99 in Northwich.

Parents Mum (1st October), His Dad Philip was a Northern based critic for Classical music in the national newspapers. He then went on to become public relations chief for Manchester University.

Mark and Lard's Tenuous Links - In this show on UK Play (Digital TV), where the audience have to find a link, albeit tenuous between three pop videos. It was on at 10pm on weekday nights and was their first ever joint TV series.
Pop Upstairs, Downstairs - Mark & Lard's other show on UK Play.It's a University Challenge style quiz that started on Tuesday 18th May at 6:30pm.
"Match Of The Nineties" (BBC1) - Perhaps unsurprisingly this program looks at football in the 90's.

Advertising They recorded a 14 minute CD for Yamaha promoting (or rather taking the piss out of) the Yamaha DJX keyboard. It was called Mark & Lard Do DJX.
Mark has done voiceovers for the Rover 200 & 400 adverts shown in January 1999.
